Graphs of Trigonometric functions
Mouse over on the buttons y is equal to sin x, y is equal to cos x, y is equal to tan x to view the graphs
Click on any of the buttons to plot the graph of the function.
We know the function y is equal to sin x is periodic with period 2 pie equals 360 degrees. Therefore it is sufficient to sketch the graph of y equal sin x only for an interval of length 2 pie radians because the graph of y is equal to sin x for others interval of length 2 pie radians would be exactly the same as that of the graph in the first interval of length 2 pie radians. Now plot the graph of y equals sin x in the interval 0 to 2 pie. The Table shows the values of x in degrees and the corresponding values of sin x are calculated. The values of x are plotted on the x axis well the values of the sin x are plotted on the y axis. Click on the each value to plot the points on the graph sheet.
We know the function y is equal to cos x is also periodic with period 2 pie equals 360 degrees. Therefore it is sufficient to sketch the graph of y equal cos x only for an interval of length 2 pie radians because the graph of y is equal to sin x for others interval of length 2 pie radians would be exactly the same as that of the graph of y equals to cos x in the first interval of length 2 pie radians. Now plot the graph of y equals cos x in the interval 0 to 2 pie. The Table shows the values of x in degrees and the corresponding values of cos x. Click on the each value to plot the points on the graph sheet.
We know that the function y is equal to tan x is periodic with period pie radians equals 180 degrees. Therefore it is sufficient to sketch the graph of y equal tan x only for an interval 0 to pie. The Table shows the values of x and the corresponding values of tan x. Click on the each value to plot the points on the graph sheet.
