Formulae for Solids
1. Right Circular Cone
Lateral / Curved Surface Area is equal to πrl
Total Surface Area is equal to πr(l + r)
Volume is equal to 1 by 3 into πr square h
Nomenclature are as follows
h is equal to height , r is equal to radius and l is equal to slant height.
2. Right Circular Cylinder
Lateral / Curved Surface Area is equal to 2πrh
Total Surface Area is equal to 2πr(r + h)
Volume is equal to πr square h
Nomenclature are as follows
h is equal to height , r is equal to radius.
3. Sphere
Total Surface Area is equal to 4πr square
Volume is equal to 4 by 3 into πr cube
Nomenclature are as follows
r is equal to radius.
4. Hemisphere
Lateral / Curved Surface Area is equal to 2πr square
Total Surface Area is equal to 3πr square
Volume is equal to 2 by 3 into πr cube
Nomenclature are as follows
r is equal to radius.
5. Spherical shell
Total Surface Area is equal to 4π(R square plus r square)
Volume is equal to 4 by 3 into π(R cube minus r cube)
Nomenclature are as follows
R is equal to outer radius , r is equal to inner radius.
