To Bisect an Angle
Given a angle ABC. We are required to bisect it. The steps of construction are as follows.
With B as centre and any suitable radius, draw an arc to cut AB at D and BC at E respectively.
Take any radius greater than half of ED.
With the radius, taking points D and E as centers, draw two arcs which intersect at P.
Join BP.
BP bisects angle ABC.
Thus we have bisected angle ABC into equal angles of CBP and PBA
PQ bisects AB at M, i.e., AM = MB.
PQ is the perpendicular bisector of AB.
