To Construct a Perpendicular to a line From a Point O outside it
We are given a line AB and a point outside it.
It is required to construct a perpendicular to AB from O.
Steps of Constructions are a follows
With O as centre and any suitable radius, draw an arc to cut AB at S and T.
With S and T as centers, draw two arcs on the same side of AB to cut each other at P.
Join OP to cut AB at M.
Then, OM is the perpendicular From O to line AB.
