How do I construct a parallelogram?

Understand the construction of parallelogram. click on the link toWatch the VIDEO explanation: Watch Video

Construction of Parallelograms
Construction of Parallelogram given two sides and an angle
Given : AB is equal to 5 cm, BC is equal to 3.3 cm and angle A is equal to 60 degrees
The construction is as follows
Draw AB is equal to 5 cm and construct angle A is equal to 60 degrees.
Cut AD is equal to 3.3 cm since AD is equal to BC
With B as centre and radius 3.3 cm, draw an arc and with D as centre and radius 5 cm cut that arc at C.
Join BC and Dc.
Then, ABCD is the required parallelogram.

Construction of Parallelogram Given Diagonals and the Angle Included by Them
The data given is AC is equal to 7 cm, BD is equal to 6 cm and the angle included by them is 60 degrees.
The steps of construction are as follows
Draw AC is equal to 7 cm. Obtain midpoint O by constructing the perpendicular bisector of AC.
At O, construct angle COX is equal to 60 degrees and produce it both ways.
With O as centre and radius 3 cm i.e., half BD cut OX at D and B.
Join AB, BC, CD and AD.
Then, ABCD is the required parallelogram.

Construction of Parallelogram Given One Side, Diagonal and Height
The data given is AB is equal to 4 cm, height is equal to 2.5 cm and AC is equal to 3.5 cm
The construction is as follows
Draw AB is equal to 4 cm.
Draw AX perpendicular to AB and make AE is equal to 2.5 cm on AX.
Through E, construct PQ parallel to AB.
With A as centre and radius 3.5 cm, cut PQ at C.
With C as centre and radius 4 cm, cut PQ at D. This gives CD is equal to 4 cm.
Join BC, AD.
Then, ABCD is the required parallelogram.
